The aim of the project was to bring the Colonsay & Oransay community, particularly those most vulnerable to isolation, together over the quiet winter months to celebrate the islands’ heritage. Generous grants of £1,000 from both the NHS Health & Wellbeing Fund and Calmac allowed this project to happen and provided a space for our most isolated locals to share skills, conversation (and some delicious baking) while celebrating shared heritage and beautiful surroundings.

We set out to organise and run a series of events during the Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival (SMHAFF), to promote positive mental health and wellbeing and reduce isolation amongst carers from the Gypsy/Traveller community in Argyll. We estimated that 40 people attended the storytelling event; over 500 people saw our exhibition and 50 carers and their families attended the wellbeing day.
2015-2016
We started in August 2013 with the aim of providing a safe, secure and confidential environment for people with cancer.
We try and alternate meetings, one with a theme e.g. speaker, and one an open meeting enabling members to talk and share.
30th May 2015
The HWF grant enabled us to put on a major event in the park on May 30th 2015.
This included live music from three different groups; sports competitions, fitness demonstrations, a dog show, several stalls run by interested parties and refreshments. About 1000 people came to the event, many of whom said they never been to the park before.

Women try their best to make their children feel settled in what can be such a worrying time, for them all, and unfortunately with children and young people there is always something or someone who comes and needs money for school trips, after school activities, summer activities etc, so therefore we are able to provide some help to those families, because of this funding.
2015-2016
We were able to cover all 7 of our comfy chairs in the Link Club room with the money we received from the Health and Wellbeing Network.
2015-2016
We set out to raise awareness of the help available from Kintyre Food Bank across rural Kintyre. We also wanted to produce a recipe booklet using ingredients provided in food parcels.
17th September 2016
An annual multi-trail 10K run has commenced in Arrochar to take over from a previous cross-country run last organised in 1947.
The inaugural race of the new era started at 10.30 am on the 17th September in glorious weather which allowed the competitors to see Arrochar and its immediate surrounds at its best. Around 100 competitors started and completed the scenic course.
